Following a three-year, $16 million renovation, the forestry unit of the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources moved labs and offices into the David C. Pfendler Hall of Agriculture in March 2004.  This is the second oldest building on campus (built in 1901), and has great historic significance.  The move has tripled the available space within our forest ecology, silviculture, and soils laboratory.

We also recently completed the construction of the John S. Wright Forestry Center at Martell Forest, which provides a modern conference center and additional laboratory and greenhouse space adjacent to many black walnut plantations and an extensive natural forest.

We are assigned two large greenhouse rooms in the Plant Growth Facility operated by the Horticulture and Landscape Architecture Department.  We also have access to numerous growth chambers and additional greenhouse space as needed.

Throughout Indiana, the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources owns 18 different properties, with approximately 2,500 forested acres available for research.
