Dining with Diabetes
The cooking series, called Dining with Diabetes, is returning this spring!  Join Purdue Extension Educator, Inger Friend, as she demonstrates how to properly cook for yourself or someone experiencing diabetes.  All participants can expect to partake of the meals at each session.  For more information, click here.
Steuben Spring Expo
The Steuben County Extension Office in cooperation with the Steuben County 4-H Fair Board presents the 30th annual Steuben Spring Expo.  The event will be held Saturday, March 10th, 8 am-3 pm.  Special features this year include sportsman's presentations from the Wild Turkey Federation.  Deer antler scoring will be available, as well as an antique appriasal by Roger Lash.  In the afternoon, Ricky Kemry, Allen County Horticulture Educator, will discuss gardening and home horticulture.  Booth are still available for vendors, offering a great way to promote local businesses and organizations.  Contact the Extension Office for more information!
4-H Open Enrollment has begun! 
The Steuben County 4-H Program is gearing up for 2012, and nearly all school-age youth in Steuben County are eligible to participate!  Mini 4-H is open to all 1st and 2nd grade youth while the regular 4-H program is open to all youth in 3rd-12th grade.  4-H Clover Buds, our newest program, is open preschool youth, age 3 through kindergarten.  Enrollment for Mini 4-H and regular 4-H can be done online, but 4-H Clover Buds must enroll in the Extension Office.  Enrollment ends March 1, 2012. NOW HIRING!
The Steuben County Extension Office is seeking an energetic person to serve as Summer Program Assistant.  Applicants who qualify as “work-study” (as per the FAFSA) are preferred.  Applicants must be willing to work 37.5hrs/wk for 13-15 weeks of the summer, primarily with the 4-H Program.  If you know anyone who might be qualified or interested, please pass the word along!  Applications and position descriptions can be picked up at the Extension Office.
