Plant Biology Program

In the Plant Biology graduate program students carry out basic research to make discoveries about how plants work. Under the guidance of program faculty students investigate fundamental mechanisms controlling plant development, function, and evolution in the following general areas:

  • Plant Growth and Development
  • Genetics and Evolution of Plants
  • Plant Cell Biology and Physiology
  • Plant Genomics and Bioinformatics
  • Plant-Pathogen Interactions

Graduate coursework in this program provides students with a breadth and depth of fundamental knowledge about plants and the methods used to study them.
