Jane Anderson’s ability to make friends with anyone in any culture has been key to the success of the fast-growing international arm of The Center for Food and Agricultural Business. The breadth of Jane's work runs from seeds to supermarkets, and her programs touch four continents so far. Currently, Jane is developing projects in countries within Asia, Central Europe, Central and South America, and Africa.
Jane's recent international experiences include developing executive management education programs within the seed industry of newly free market economies, such as Poland. These programs have included strong components of free market economics, business planning and strategy, marketing management, and financial management.
In addition, Jane has developed strong ties with the U.S. seed sector, bringing executives of U.S. companies together with the executives of foreign seed companies. These agribusiness activities increase the understanding of the business philosophies of both management teams, while opening the doors for increased business and trade for the future.
Jane's work in China extends to the supermarket industry, where she manages a project for Chinese supermarket executives interested in inventory control management. She works in-country to gather market information, deliver presentations, conduct follow-up assessments, and to promote and recruit for each new training class. The training is conducted in the U.S. with 45-percent of the training time spent in classroom presentations, and 55-percent spent in field visits to supermarket and food-related companies.
Jane's family operates a 4,000 acre grain farm in Western Indiana, giving her a unique and practical perspective on today's food system. Jane and her husband, Dave, are both graduates of Purdue University. They have three children.
