Kevin Leigh Smith is responsible for editing and managing Extension and educational materials projects for the Agronomy, Botany and Plant Pathology, and Horticulture and Landscape Architecture departments. He also is the Events editor, which involves work on exhibits, programs, and promotional materials. And he teaches YDAE 460 (Agricultural Publishing), which produces Destination Purdue, a magazine aimed at high school students. Smith joined AgComm in 2004, coming from the Lafayette Journal and Courier where he had been a copy editor for five years. Before that, he worked on his doctorate at Purdue University, earned his master’s degree from Colorado State University, and earned his bachelor’s degree from Purdue. Smith has  more than 15 years of teaching experience at Purdue, Colorado State, and Ivy Tech State College.
