Abigail Borron is a disaster communication specialist (75%) and a marketing and communication specialist (25%) for AgComm and Purdue Extension. She provides Web site and information delivery support for EDEN and Purdue Extension, promotes EDEN to state and federal agencies that relate to emergency management, practices public affairs management to enhance communication regarding homeland security, assists in design, maintenance, and training of the EDEN online database and Dynamic Internet-Based Page Authoring Tool (DIPAT), writes and distributes press releases to EDEN delegates so that each can be personalized and used within a delegate’s own university or state and co-authors EDEN-related grants. In communication and marketing, she provides marketing tools and information to county offices via the Knowledge to Go Marketing Web site, consults with 200+ Purdue Extension educators on communication and marketing issues, conducts educational presentations to Purdue Extension field staff on branding Purdue Extension and general media training, assists in the design and implementation of Purdue Extension marketing plans, and co-teaches communication classes for the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
