New Faculty Tour

The College of Agriculture holds an annual bus tour for agriculture faculty in their first three years of employment at Purdue University. This event consists of a two-day bus tour of either Northern, Central, or Southern Indiana.  Each year a different region is visited in rotation, so all faculty have the opportunity to travel through the state of Indiana within their first three years of employment.

This event has taken place for over 25 years and has become a highlight in welcoming new faculty members not only to Purdue, but to Indiana agriculture. This tour of the state provides faculty with opportunities to network with potential (future) collaborators and interact with college leadership, and other new (or newer) faculty members.

All Faculty in the College of Agriculture within their first three years of employment are eligible to participate in the New Faculty Tour.  All eligible individuals will receive an invitation mid-June from the College of Agriculture Dean's Office.

We realize that you may be asking yourself, "Why do I need to attend, I have so many other things to do!?".  We believe that this event is a great way for new faculty to network, make connections, and get some face-to-face interaction with the college leadership team!  While this is not a mandatory event, we schedule this on two consecutive work days, in the first part of August, to avoid potential conflicts with the start of classes and the Indiana State Fair.

For more information or to check on your eligibility for this event, please contact Julia Jones at jone2553@purdue.edu
