Description
This event, co-sponsored by Purdue's Department of Forestry and Natural Resources, is intended for forest landowners and anyone interested in forests and wildlife. The event takes place from 8:30-11:30 a.m. The tour begins at the Morgan County Fairgrounds in Martinsville. From there, participants will travel to tour stops at Morgan-Monroe State Forest. The tour focuses on the effects of wildlife on forests and general forest management. It includes demonstration and research sites that are part of the Hardwood Ecosystem Experiment, a study of forest management and its impacts conducted by a partnership among various universities and the Indiana Division of Forestry. Bus transportation to and from Morgan-Monroe State Forest will be provided. Bus access will be limited once in the forest, and tour attendees should be prepared to walk and for any type of field condition. Registration is $5 and space is limited.
